Who is responsible for your data

The data controller for this website is Cashenza, a UK sole trader. The operator's full legal name and correspondence address are being finalised and will be added here once confirmed. You can reach us about privacy matters at savesmartdealsuk@gmail.com or via our contact page.

What we collect

• Account details. If you register, we store your email address and a securely hashed password so you can sign in.
• Saved deals. Deals you save to favourites are stored against your account (or only on your own device if you don't sign in).
• Newsletter email. If you join our mailing list, we store the email address you provide.
• Anonymous deal clicks. When you tap "Shop Deal" we record which deal was clicked. We do not store your identity, IP address or any tracking cookie with this.

We do not collect payment details, and we do not sell your personal information to anyone.

How we use your information

• To provide your account, sign-in and saved-deals features.
• To send you deal emails if you have subscribed to the newsletter.
• To understand, in aggregate, which deals are popular so we can improve the site.

Our lawful bases are performance of a contract (providing your account), consent (newsletter and any optional cookies) and our legitimate interest in running and improving the website (anonymous statistics).

Cookies and storage

Cashenza uses a small amount of essential browser storage to keep you signed in, remember deals you save on your device and record your cookie preferences. We do not currently set analytics or marketing cookies. Full details are in our Cookie Policy, and you can change your choices at any time via the Cookie Settings link in the footer.

Affiliate links and third-party retailers

When you follow a link to a retailer, you leave Cashenza and the retailer's own privacy policy and cookies apply. Some outbound links are affiliate links (see our Affiliate Disclosure): the retailer or its affiliate network may record that you arrived from Cashenza so we can be credited a commission. We do not receive your purchase details or payment information.

Who we share data with

Your account and newsletter data is stored with our hosting and database provider, which processes it on our behalf under a data processing agreement. We do not share your personal information with retailers or advertisers.

How long we keep data

• Contact enquiries: kept for 12 months after the enquiry is resolved, then deleted.
• Newsletter subscriptions: kept until you unsubscribe. To unsubscribe, email savesmartdealsuk@gmail.com and we will remove your address.
• User accounts and saved deals: kept while your account is active. To delete your account, email us from the address you registered with and we will permanently delete your account and saved deals.
• Financial and tax records (such as affiliate commission records): kept for the period required by UK law.
• Anonymous deal clicks: contain no personal information.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal information, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time (for example, unsubscribing from the newsletter). To exercise any of these, contact us via the contact page. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top shows the current version.
